Katrina's 'Priceless' dream shattered

A French film had inspired Katrina Kaif's so much that the actress had decided to turn producer and remake the film for Bollywood. Rumours of the actress casting her sister Isabel in the film were also afoot. 

However, it so happens that her French connection has just been spoilt. Thanks to the unresponsive people in the other country who she was dealing with.

While Katrina had always remained tightlipped about the film she wanted to buy, industry insiders speculated it to be the 2002 film He Loves Me...He Loves Me Not starring popular French actressAudrey Tatou (of Amelie fame).

However, Kat herself broke her silence and later revealed that she wanted to buy the remake rights of the 2006 French movie Priceless.

And after months of going back and forth, the deal as of today, stands cancelled.

The people in question simply stopped reverting to the Bollywood actress. "It was ridiculous. Katrina is an A-list actress in Bollywood. They should have dealt with the proceedings very tactfully," revealed a source close to Kat.

Tired of the unprofessional behaviour, Katrina too, has eventually given up on her French dream. "She gave lot of time and energy to this project.

She had even thought of a few directors who could handle the subject beautifully. She has every reason to be exasperated now. She has given up on Priceless, " added our source.

However, this setback has not managed to squash Katrina's dream of turning producer.  "She is very much open to other films. She is quite a film buff and sees a lot of foreign films. Who knows, she might even pick up a Hindi film and remake it," informed the source.

Miss India Ankita Shorey wants to work with SRK ,Aamir

After winning the Miss India International crown, Ankita Shorey has set her sights on the Bollywood and has both Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan on her wish-list of co-stars.

The 24-year-old model says films are her first love, and she wants to live out her life in front of the cameras. “Acting is and will always be my first love. Even before I won the pageant, I was working towards becoming an actress, and the crown will hopefully ease my way a bit,” Ankita told PTI.

Ankita, who has already shared screen space with King Khan in an advertisement for a cosmetics brand, said Shah Rukh had an immense commercial appeal, while Aamir had an “experimental edge.”

“I want to live my entire life on the big screen and want to work with all the top names in the industry. I love both Shah Rukh and Aamir. Aamir is a fearless actor who experiments a lot, while Shah Rukh has an unparalleled commercial success. SRK just sweeps you off the feet with his charm,” she said.

She reckoned that it was the best time to be a newcomer in the Bollywood as the industry had spawned various genres to choose from.

“We have everything from typical ‘masala' song and dance to experimental films coming out of the industry. That gives an aspiring actor a lot of opportunity, and more than anything I want to prove my versatility,” Ankita said, citing the example of the former Miss India, Priyanka Chopra.

“She has done everything, from a Dostana to a Saat Khoon Maaf, and I aspire to do the same.”

Ankita, who attended a Buddhist monastery after studying history, said her early years equipped her well for life in the fast lane.

William Kate Royal Wedding Guest List Released

LONDON :  The full list of confirmed guests and the seating plan for the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton were released by the British monarchy Saturday.

Many of the 1,900 invitees had already been mentioned in the media weeks ago, including soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria, musician Elton John and director Guy Ritchie. But others, like soul singer Joss Stone and Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson — a close friend of William's father Prince Charles — were new.

St. James's Palace also confirmed for the first time that Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa will be attending, despite British concerns about the treatment of activists there.

Moin Akhter Laid To Rest In Karachi

KARACHI: A renowned television artist, comedian and compere Moin Akhter was laid to rest in Model Colony graveyard in Malir, Karachi on Saturday.

The funeral prayers of Moin Akhtar were offered in Tauheed Mosque near his residence. Hundreds of people attended the funeral prayer. The funeral prayer was led by Junaid Jamshed.

Moin Akhtar, aged 60, passed away in Karachi after suffering a heart attack on Friday afternoon.

Moin Akhtar also demonstrated his calibre in realms of fine arts. As a comedian he had won recognition at international level for his unique style.

He leaves behind his wife, three daughters and two sons to mourn his death.

He died at around 6:15 pm at the Combined Military Hospital in Malir Cantonment where he was admitted after suffering heart attack in the morning.

The legendary television and stage actor was also a playwright, singer, and producer who made his debut from Pakistan Television. 

Legend Pakistani Comedian Moin Akhtar passes away

KARACHI:  Prominent TV and stage actor Moin Akhtar breathe his last on Friday. He was heart patient and few months back he had undergone heart bypass.

He was taken to CMH in critical condition where he expired. Late Moin Akhtar was living in Karachi and in his life he received many awards including Pride of Performance for his best performances in TV and stage dramas. He was borne on 24 December in 1950 and started his acting career in 1966.

His family members confirmed his death that Moin Ahktar is no more with us, and he has left widow, three daughters and two sons behind him.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Main Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, former President Pervaz Musharrraf, Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and JI Amir Syed Munawar Hassan shown deep sorrow over the death of Moin Akhtar.

Jennifer Planning Latin American talent show

Los Angeles: Jennifer Lopez is planning to return to her roots by launching a talent show for Latin America.

The `American Idol` judge, who has been a big hit with the fans of the talent show, is keen to start a new music series to search for untapped talent in Latin America, reported Entertainment Weekly.

The `Maid in Manhattan` star will team up with `American Idol` creator Simon Fuller for the project, which is tentatively titled as `Que Viva`.

The show will see the 41-year-old star along with her singer husband Marc Anthony hunting for new acts in Latin America.

Lopez, who currently is in the judging panel along with `Aerosmith` frontman Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson on `American Idol`, is unsure of whether she would renew her show`s contract.

"I don`t know if I will do another season. I`m taking it day by day at the moment, and we`ll see what happens," said Lopez.

The project is reportedly still in the early stages of development as the creators are yet to find a network home.

William Kate Visit Diana`S Grave Before Tying The Knot

London:  Barely a week before they are to tie the knot, Prince William and his fiancee Kate Middleton have paid tributes to his late mother, Princess Diana, who was killed in a car crash in Paris 14 years back, a report said.

The couple have recently paid an emotional visit to the late Princess of Wales' final resting place on an island at her family's Althorp estate in Northamptonshire, and laid flowers at her grave, the 'Daily Express' reported.

St James's Palace, however, refused to discuss the visit, saying it was a private matter.

It is understood that during their trip to the Spencer family's 14,000-acre estate, William, 28, and his 29-year-old fiancee took a boat to the island burial spot called The Oval. They also visited the memorial to Diana and the arboretum where William and his younger brother Prince Harry planted trees when they were children, sources were quoted by the British newspaper as saying.

One source said: "It was very important for William to take Kate to visit his mum just before their wedding day. Diana is still a huge part of her boy's everyday life and always will be.

"Even though Kate never met Diana, she knows what an incredible woman she was and it's important to her she can share and understand William's love and grief for his mum."

William and Kate have made it clear that they intend to honour Diana's memory at their wedding on April 29. He also gave Kate his mother's blue sapphire engagement ring.

"It's my mother's engagement ring so I thought it was quite nice because obviously she's not going to be around to share any of the fun and excitement of it all. It is my way of making sure my mother didn't miss out on the fact we are going to spend the rest of our lives together," William said on their engagement day announcement in November.

Gossip website Popeater reports an applicant for the coveted childcare position should possess no less than a college degree in education or child development, the ability to speak at least two languages, (including the native language of the child) and a penchant for travelling.

Each Junior Jolie-Pitt has their own personal nanny, despite the fact that that they are rarely spotted with the children.

The publicity machine that is Hollywood's most famous couple manages to shield the caretakers from the papparazzi, ensuring that only shots of Brad and Ange with the children are seen by the public.

The nanny must also love airports and be willing to split their time between California, New Orleans, France and a number of movie sets dotted all over the world.

The position reportedly pays between $50,000 and $150,000 on a sliding scale dependant on length of employment. As all six kids are home-schooled ensuring the lucky applicant is prepared to put on their teacher's hat.

SRK is a true friend: Juhi

Actor Shahrukh Khan and actress Juhi Chawla have been friends since their very first film together. Later this friendship turned into business partnership, but when the duo realised that their partnership was affecting their friendship, they parted ways as business partners. 

Juhi Chawala told Mumbai Mirror, "I think Shahrukh and I have remained friends because we stopped being business partners. I realise it's impossible to mix business with friendship. Our relationship did go through a rough patch. When I realized our friendship was suffering because of the partnership I chose to keep the friendship and let the business partnership go. Today after a long gap we're again together in the IPL. Let's hope nothing goes wrong. I got to meet him at the match recently after so long. He has no time for friends like me."

The actress however, accepted that Shahrukh Khan has stood strong beside her when she was in very much need of a friend. Juhi recalled, "When I lost my mother in Prague while shooting for Duplicate in 1998, Shahrukh was there right beside me like a pillar of strength. Isn't that what a true friendship is all about?"

Prince urged not to fly helicopter while thinking Of His Future Bride

Groom-to-be Prince William was urged by his godfather to be careful because it was ''dangerous to fly a helicopter when you're in love''.

The former King Constantine of Greece revealed today how he wrote to his godson on his engagement urging the royal pilot to concentrate while flying, rather than thinking about his future bride Kate Middleton.

In an interview with BBC News, Constantine also insisted that William would not become King ahead of the Prince of Wales.

He dismissed recent polls which claimed that the majority of the British public would prefer Prince William to leapfrog his father Charles, who today became the longest serving heir apparent in British history.

Constantine, who will be a guest at the Westminster Abbey service, described William as ''straightforward, honest, hardworking and never losing his sense of humour''.

The former king said: ''He's a hell of a nice guy, that's the important thing.

Dabangg

Salman Khan has impressed one and all with his policeman avatar in 'Dabangg' and 'Wanted'. Playing the character of inspector Chulbul Pandey in the former, he tackles some goons and even avenges his mother's death. The film was such a huge hit that Arbaaz Khan, producer of Dabangg, has already embarked upon the script of Dabangg 2.

Dhoom series

The Dhoom series is one of the more popular movies of the chor-police genre. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra play cops in this series. Their job is to hunt down a bad guy. While Hrithik Roshan played baddie in Dhoom 2, Aamir Khan is most likely to play bad man in Dhoom 3.

Directed by E. Nivas, Manoj Bajpai plays inspector Samar Pratap Singh in Shool, a film that has won a National Award . Set in Bihar this film portrays an honest cops battle against corruption even within the legal systems.

 Vijay

Directed by Prakash Mehra, Amitabh Bachchan plays Vijay, an honest inspector who fights crime. The movie was remade in Telugu as ;Nippulant Manishi'.

 Ab Tak Chappan

Directed by Shimit Amin, Ab Tak Chappan is about the Mumbai Police Department and it's tackling of the underworld. The film stars Nana Patekar who, in the film, has a reputation of being the King of Encounters.

 Deewar 

Directed by yash Chopra, Deewar has Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor in the lead. The movie tells a story about two brothers: One that becomes a policeman, and another who finds himself on the wrong side of the law.

 Sehar 

Directed by Kabir Kaushik, Sehar is based on true life stories. With UP as its backdrop it depicts the fight of the State Police against organised crime in the area.

 Khakee 

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Khakee has an ensemble star cast - Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai, Tusshar Kapoor. The plot: Accused terrorist Iqbal Ansari is to appear in a court in Mumbai. To be brought all the way from Chandigarh, DCP Anant Shrivastav (Bachchan) is in charge of escorting him safely. However, a terrorist organisation is he ll bent on freeing him.

Sarfarosh 

Directed by John Matthew Matthan, Sarfarosh stars Aamir Khan and Naseeruddin Shah. Aamir Khan plays a cop in this one. Sarfarosh deals with the fight against cross border terrorism.

 Gangaajal 

Directed by Prakash Jha, Gangaajal sees Ajay Devgan plays SP Amit Kumar. The film deals with the connection between police, politicians and criminals. The movie won the National Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.

Yuvi Shows Anger On Linking Him With Every Second Girl

Quite a party hopper, the eligible bachelor of the Indian Cricket team is now miffed with the media linking him to every second girl. 

Just a few days back Yuvi was even linked to Bollywood actresses Amisha Patel and Neha Dhupia. 

Yuvi then was said to have taken special interest in Bangalore gal Akshara Gowda. 

The Cricketer reacted, "You want a comment, I'll give you one! Absolutely ridiculous! Stop linking me to everyone or anyone!" 

His fellow cricketer Sreesanth too reacted on being linked to actress Riya Sen, "I am not getting married to anyone now. Its only cricket, cricket and cricket now. I want to set high standards. We r the world champs. Please stop linking me. I am single and working hard on getting better on my game and I am loving my life. I want to surely win more n more matches." 

The only cricketer who has not reacted or played defensive happens to be Virat Kohli who too has been linked to model turned actress Sarah Jane Dias. 

Seems like the cricketing world too is following Bollywood as far as the rate of denials go.

Britney Spears 'Till The World Ends' Remix Hits Web

Last week, Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" got the Bollywood treatmentwhen Indian composers Salim-Sulaiman remixed her feel-good disco track. Now, Britney Spears is feeling the Indian love from entertainment website  Desi Hits! and the Culture Shock production team, who put their Bollywood-style spin on "Till the World Ends."

"Check out this incredible Desihits remix of Till The World Ends. I LOVE it!!!" Britney tweeted on Monday about the track.

The swirling take on Spears' hit tune boasts a "Punjabi breakdown" section that features some South Asian-sounding vocals from Culture Shock's Lomaticc and Sunny Brown. The track includes some added Desi flavors courtesy of dholki, dhol and tumbi beats, which are common in Indian music.

"Our goal was to take Britney's smash hit single and give fans a total Desi adrenaline rush," Culture Shock's Baba Kahn explained. "The result is a Culture Shock musical Desi roller coaster that hopefully everyone around the world will want to join."

It seems that Spears' camp was crucial in orchestrating the remix. "We wanted to build an even greater connection between the world's biggest pop star and one of the world's largest audiences," Mark Flaherty, senior vice president of Jive Label Group, says of the reimagined tune. "Britney has been engaged with South Asian culture for many years. From the groundbreaking Bollywood-inspired remix of 'Me Against the Music' to her recent collaboration with Indian fashion designers Falguni and Shane Peacock on the 'Hold It Against Me' video, she has embraced the incredible sights and sounds of this vibrant community throughout her career."

The original version of "Till the World Ends," the second single from Britney's Femme Fatale album, was produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Billboard. At last look, the tune held the #8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100chart.

Royal wedding details announced

More details of the royal wedding have been released by Clarence House.

Kate Middleton and her immediate family will spend the night before the wedding at the five-star Goring Hotel in Belgravia, central London.

Clarence House also revealed the exact timings of the big day, and the route of the carriage procession.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry has joined Miss Middleton for a wedding rehearsal at Westminster Abbey, where she will marry Prince William on 29 April.

Harry is best man to his brother, the second in line to the throne, and plays an important role in the ceremony.

Fly past

Kate's maid of honour - her sister Pippa Middleton - and her young bridesmaids and pageboys also attended the run-through.

William, an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot, did not attend as he was on duty.

It also gave details of the planned flypasts after the wedding.

Three aircraft from the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - a Lancaster, a Spitfire and a Hurricane - will be followed by two Typhoons and two Tornado GR4s in box formation.
